Estimation & Quantities
Cost studies, the structural quantity engine, finishing and MEP derivation, and converting a study into a quotation.
Study types
When creating a new study from the Pricing section, choose one of three types:
| Type | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Full study | From quantity takeoff to final price — most accurate for tenders |
| Cost pricing | Manual tables without calculation engines — when you already have quantities |
| Quick pricing | Straight to the selling price — for urgent offers |
Study stages
A full study goes through four stages; each is approved before moving to the next:
Quantities → Specifications → Cost Pricing → Selling Price
Structural quantity takeoff
- Start with the Building Setup Wizard: define floors, heights, and areas — the system automatically derives column and blockwork heights.
- Enter element dimensions across the eight sections:
- Blinding concrete
- Footings (isolated, combined, strip, raft)
- Ground beams
- Columns and column necks
- Slabs (solid, hordi, flat slab)
- Block walls
- Stairs
- Other elements (tanks, septic pits, elevator pits...)
- For every element the system instantly calculates concrete volume, detailed rebar weight, formwork area, and block count — using formulas based on the Saudi Building Code with adjustable defaults.
Finishing and MEP
- Finishing: the system derives plastering, paint, tiling, and ceiling quantities from building data and room types — every item is editable.
- MEP: derives electrical, plumbing, and HVAC points per room profiles.
- Manual: add any custom items in the manual entry tab.
Quantity summary (BOQ)
An aggregate table with three tabs: Summary across all sections, Factory Order for rebar by diameter and length, and Cutting Details to minimize bar waste — with per-floor filtering and Excel/PDF export.
Cost pricing and margins
After approving quantities and specifications, price materials and labor, then add profit margin using one of four methods:
- A uniform percentage across the whole study.
- A percentage per section (structural / finishing / MEP).
- A manual selling price per item.
- A price per square meter.
Converting to a quotation
After approving the pricing stage, the Convert to Quotation button appears — it copies the items into a professional branded quotation ready to send, and when you win the tender you convert the quotation into an actual project with no re-entry.
