Project Management
Everything about creating and executing projects — from activities and daily reports to claims and handover protocols.
The project page
Every project in Masar has a comprehensive page showing in real time: completion percentage, financial position (contract, collected, spent, net profit), latest updates, and site photos.
Activities and progress tracking
From the Execution tab:
- Create project milestones and activities with start/end dates and relative weights.
- Update each activity's completion — the project's overall progress is calculated automatically.
- Track the timeline, Gantt chart, and dependencies between activities.
Daily reports and site photos
The field supervisor logs from the job site:
- A daily report with completed work, labor, and equipment.
- Site photos archived by date.
- Issues and blockers documented for follow-up.
Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
Every project has its own BOQ under the BOQ tab:
- Add items manually or in bulk.
- Import items from Excel.
- Copy items from an approved cost study or quotation.
Change orders and claims
- Change orders: document any scope modification with value and status (pending/approved/rejected); approved values reflect on the contract automatically.
- Progress claims: create periodic claims by completion percentage, approve them through a workflow — approval posts an automatic journal entry.
Project chat
Two chat channels per project:
- Team channel — internal discussion between project members.
- Owner channel — documented communication with the project owner through their portal.
Handover protocols
From the Handover tab, create 4 types of protocols: item acceptance, preliminary, final, and delivery — with a full signature cycle and warranty tracking. Completing the final handover releases retention with an automatic journal entry.
Project team
Assign team members to the project to control who sees and works on it, and assign employees for specific periods so labor cost is charged to the project in profitability reports.
